# Elephant skin stone
Reusable

Grey stone with a wrinkled, cracked skin.

## What the simulation uses

- Holds water: 2.5 % by volume (Water it keeps after draining; the rest runs down to the drainage.)

- Pore space: 5.5 % by volume (Room for air and water between grains; low means roots suffocate when wet.)

- Weight: 1450 g/L (How heavy a litre is.)

- pH: 7 to 8.5 pH (How acid it keeps the soil.)

- Mould risk: none (How much fresh food it gives white mould; high-risk soils fuzz over in the first weeks.)

- Nutrients: none (Plant food it brings.)

## Description
The name comes from the aquascaping trade, and nobody is sure what rock it really is. Treat it as mostly inert but possibly lime-bearing. Drip vinegar on it first, and if it fizzes, expect it to raise pH.

Also called elephant skin rock.

Estimated, where sources were thin: lithology unknown (trade name not resolved); density, porosity and pH effect all estimated; no item-specific source found.
