# Tufa moss rock

Tufa is a soft, pitted limestone that soaks up water, and moss grows on it well.

## What the simulation uses

- Holds water: 22.5 % by volume (Water it keeps after draining; the rest runs down to the drainage.)

- Pore space: 40 % by volume (Room for air and water between grains; low means roots suffocate when wet.)

- Weight: 1400 g/L (How heavy a litre is.)

- pH: 7.5 to 8.2 pH (How acid it keeps the soil.)

## Description
Tufa is a soft, pitted limestone that soaks up water, and moss grows on it well. Being limestone, it nudges pH up toward alkaline.
