# Grey mould
Botrytis cinerea

Grey fuzz on dying leaves and soft stems. Spreads in still, wet air.

## Care

- Air humidity: 90 to 100%

- Temperature: 15 to 25 °C

## Description
This is the mould that actually kills terrarium plants. It starts on dead leaves and flowers, then moves into healthy tissue that stays wet, leaving it soft, brown and collapsed. Pull out dead leaves promptly and give the jar some airflow.

Also called botrytis, gray mold.

Estimated, where sources were thin: spread_cm_per_day; typical_duration_days (persists while conditions hold); humidity threshold.
