# Slime mould
Physarum polycephalum, Fuligo septica

A bright yellow net or foam that creeps over wood and vanishes.

## Care

- Air humidity: 90 to 100%

- Temperature: 18 to 28 °C

## Description
This is no fungus at all but a single-celled creature that eats bacteria and fungi. It appears on wood and mulch after heavy watering, then dries into a dark, crusty spore mass. Plants are unharmed, so drying out and time are all it needs.

Also called dog vomit slime mould, scrambled egg slime, plasmodial slime mould.

Estimated, where sources were thin: spread_cm_per_day (source gives only 1 mm/s internal cytoplasmic flow); temp_c; typical_duration_days.
