# Sooty mould

Black film on leaves where sap-sucking insects have been.

## Care

- Air humidity: 70 to 100%

- Temperature: 15 to 32 °C

## Description
This black, powdery coating grows on the sticky honeydew left by aphids, scale, mealybugs and whiteflies. It shades leaves rather than infecting them. Washing leaves helps for a while, but it keeps coming back until the pests are gone.

Also called sooty mold, black mould on leaves.

Estimated, where sources were thin: spread_cm_per_day; temp_c; humidity_rh_pct; duration depends on pest, not modelled.
