# White fuzzy mycelium (new-wood bloom)

White fuzz on new wood and soil in the first weeks. Springtails clear it.

## Care

- Air humidity: 85 to 100%

- Temperature: 15 to 30 °C

## Description
Cottony white threads spread over fresh wood, cork and leaf litter, the classic bloom of a jar's first weeks. It never harms plants and fades as the wood's easy sugars run out, usually within six weeks. Isopods and a little airflow speed that up.

Also called white fuzz, new wood mould, white mould on driftwood.

Estimated, where sources were thin: spread_cm_per_day; typical_duration_days (hobby consensus, no measured source); temp_c.
