How it works
Death and hazards
Only hazards kill, each rising from zero at its threshold.
- Rot: water reaching the roots, worse for plants that hate wet feet.
- Drought: soil around the roots below the wilting point.
- Heat and cold: days past the species' lethal temperatures.
- Darkness: light below what a plant needs just to hold on.
- Also grey mould, hungry isopods, too little soil, and being crushed by the lid.
- Each day a thing dies with a chance set by that day's hazards.
